Ksenia Kudasova transforms complex and topical themes into vivid fairy-tale installations and performances accessible to a wide range of viewers, thanks to folklore artistic tropes in their broad sense.
Folklore tropes are based on studies of the morphology of legends of the peoples of the World, myths of ancient cultures, local theatrical forms (buto, puppet theater), jokes from the 90s, demotivators-00s and popular memes of the 20s.
Such topics as: subjective time and memory, immortality, conspiracy thinking form the basis of fairy-tale narratives. These narratives, thanks to a soft entrance through clear and familiar images, take viewers a little further than the apparent simplicity of myths and legends.
The artist's task is to form such spaces around complex topics that would be equally interesting to both children and adults (and their inner children), would cause discussions.
